Landscape Designer

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 per year + potential performance bonus
K. Joly Contracting is looking for a full-time Landscape Designer to join our team in Ottawa.
This is a year-round, in-person role. When you’re not meeting clients or visiting job sites, you’ll be working from our office. This is not a remote position.
We’re looking for someone who can do more than just design. This role connects the client, the design, the estimate, and the installation crew. The right person will help make sure projects are clearly communicated and smoothly handed off from concept to construction.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand project goals, budget, and site conditions
- Create landscape designs and presentations for residential and commercial projects
- Support sales and estimating by preparing proposals and estimates
- Use software such as LMN, MS Word, and MS Excel for estimates, reports, and project documents
- Help communicate design intent clearly to installation crews
- Visit job sites to answer questions and support the design-to-install handoff
- Act as a liaison between clients and the field team
- Assist with office duties such as answering phones, greeting clients, and general administrative support
Qualifications
- Experience in landscape design, horticulture, estimating, sales, construction, or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working both in the office and in the field
- Practical understanding of how landscape projects are actually built
- Experience with Dynascape is a strong asset
- Ability to turn a 2D design into a 3D render is a strong asset
- Experience with estimating software such as LMN is a strong asset
- Strong working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
- Valid driver’s license required
