Job Description: We are now hiring an Assistant Controller for a leading Client in the Food Manufacturing industry! Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for full‑cycle accounting, financial reporting, and maintaining the company’s ERP system in alignment with established accounting standards and procedures.

Compensation: $90,000 - $95,000 to start depending on experience + extended health/dental benefits + RRSP contributions + workboot allowance & more!
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the month-end closing process while ensuring adherence to corporate deadlines
· Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
· Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with IFRS and established accounting policies
· Coordinate with corporate functional leaders regarding treasury and accounting matters
· Manage HST returns, remittances, and compliance reporting
· Review bank reconciliations and monitor organizational cash balances and working capital requirements
· Oversee biweekly payroll processes, including data review and coordination with HR
· Review supplier payments to ensure compliance with internal controls and local regulations
· Manage the fixed asset register and provide monthly reporting on actuals versus budgeted CAPEX
· Ensure balance sheet integrity and maintain strong internal control environments
· Support tax compliance and financial reporting accuracy
· Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including HR, Treasury, Sourcing, R&D, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance
· Work closely with auditors and banking partners
· Support ERP and financial systems maintenance and reporting
· Prepare and present financial data, reports, and analysis to leadership
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Candidates with CPA designation or recognized accounting designation are highly preferred
- 5+ years of accounting and/or operations accounting experience
- Must have a minimum of 3+ years of leadership or management experience
- Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Proven experience working with ERP systems
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is considered a strong asset
- Strong financial reporting and accounting knowledge
- Understanding of IFRS and accounting compliance standards
- Must be able to communicate in English effectively (written and oral)
- Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish (written and oral) - considered an asset
