Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Resonetics Medical Power Canada ULC is a leader in designing and manufacturing batteries for the medical industry. Our facility in Surrey specializes in the manufacturing of specialty batteries used in implantable medical devices. We are currently recruiting for our Manufacturing Group.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure technical support is efficiently applied to manage production systems and equipment.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Support and drive improvements in the manufacturing of cells.
- Design, document, manufacturing processes for ramping production.
- Collaborate with PD engineering to implement “design for manufacturing”. Assist in validation and verification of production processes.
- Establish control and calibration procedures and protocols for tooling, automation, and test equipment.
- Establish process control points in the manufacturing process and establish testing requirements and procedures; develop and ensure maintenance of statistical controls.
- Plans, organizes and directs technical work concerning new or existing products and/or processes either with direct reports and/or other colleagues within the business.
- Oversees and directs new products implementation.
- Evaluate and plan resources with the Engineering department, to best support projects and continuous improvement efforts. Ensure that department milestones are met while adhering to defined budgets.
- Supports customer timing and quality in launching new products as it relates to equipment, tools, and processes.
- Oversees and maintains all processes presently in production.
- Ensure that final products meet strict customer and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in process, product, and equipment cost analysis.
- Develop, improve, and promote new machining techniques and strategies, and support the introduction of new equipment.
- Manage Manufacturing Engineering Programs such as Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) and other supplier related interventions.

- Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
- Industry Experience: 8 years in the field of Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering with Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
Preferences:
- A suitable engineering Diploma or Degree.
- Engineering experience in a highly regulated industry
- Prior experience working in a clean environment.
- Ability to occasionally work long days as required to meet production targets.
- PLC Programming experience
- Someone who understands that this is a hands-on active engineering role, with management work (80/20).
