FOOD PRODUCTION COMPANY LOOKING FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN
We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Brantford, Ontario. In this position the candidate is responsible for monitoring raw material, all processes and finished product to assure compliance with all regulations, GMP & quality standards.
The Quality Assurance Technician will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and assist in developing and implementing Quality Assurance policies and procedures that meet regulatory, industry and corporate standards/requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs daily GMP inspections, QC line checks, internal audits according to written programs and documents results and corrective actions and communicates potential problems to QA Manager.
- Reviews and verifies production records daily
- Identify and issue Non-conformances, conduct and assist on root cause analysis. Help implement and maintain CAPAs
- Reviews and verifies sanitation activities and records daily
- Help examines incoming raw materials, process and finished products to make sure they comply with the company’s quality and food safety standards
- Assesses the effectiveness of the traceability program: perform daily lot coding for all the finished products. Participates in mock recalls.
- Assists with implementations of food safety and quality policies and procedures required for the GFSI audit standards, customer audits and external audits.
- Performs Environmental testing program as per standard procedures, swabs equipment, drains, floor, etc. and submits samples for laboratory analysis.
- Assists with investigations of consumer / customer complaints.
- Performs calibration of measuring devices (thermometers, scales, ATP meter etc.)
- Other related duties and responsibilities assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Skill to document findings and data clearly, concisely, and accurately
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors, and production floor employees
- Very strong Microsoft office skills
- Knowledge of food safety (HACCP) programs, GMP programs and Quality Systems
Environmental Requirements:
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts (7 – 330, 10 – 6 or 11 - 7) I believe these would be the working hours. (however the QA tech must stay until sanitation is complete)
- Work environment will be noisy and at low temperature (around 3 degrees Celsius)
- Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
