Looking for a motivated associate to assist with our criminal defence law practice on a full-time basis.
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will be required to assist with case management courts, bail hearings, Crown and judicial pre-trials, pleas, motions and trials.
Assist senior counsel with case preparation through client meetings, reviewing disclosure, and legal research.
Must be able to attend the Niagara Detention Centre on a regular basis to speak with clients as well as other detention centres as needed.
Will need to be empanelled with Legal Aid Ontario.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from a recognized law school.
Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Must have access to a car for travel to detention centres and other court locations.
Excellent knowledge of criminal evidence and procedure.
Strong advocacy (written and oral) skills.

Salary: $75,000-$90,000 (to be commensurate with experience)
