Job Overview
Hafez Pharmacy & Travel Clinic is seeking a highly organized, clinically strong Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist to lead daily operations, support staff, and oversee both community dispensing and travel‑medicine services. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who thrives in a dynamic, patient‑centered environment and enjoys balancing clinical care, workflow management, vaccination, and travel consultations.
The Pharmacy Manager will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy operations while fostering a supportive, culturally sensitive environment for patients and staff. As our clinic continues to grow, this leadership role is central to maintaining high standards of care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, workflow, and staff coordination
- Perform and supervise medication processing, clinical checks, DUR review, and claim submission
- Conduct and verify blister pack checking with accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, interactions, chronic disease management, and adherence
- Lead travel health consultations, including vaccine recommendations, malaria prophylaxis, and destination‑specific guidance
- Administer vaccinations and injections, including routine, travel, and therapeutic injections
- Ensure compliance with College of Pharmacists of BC standards, PharmaCare policies, and clinical documentation requirements
- Support and oversee minor ailment prescribing (if applicable)
- Maintain a high standard of culturally sensitive care for diverse patient populations
- Train, mentor, and support pharmacy assistants and new staff
- Monitor inventory, ordering, cold‑chain management, and operational readiness
- Stay current with immunization schedules, travel guidelines, and evolving pharmacy practice standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of BC (in good standing)
- Injection‑certified (Immunization Competency)
- Strong experience with vaccination, clinical assessments, and patient counseling
- Proficient and comfortable working with WinRx
- Ability to perform travel consultations or willingness to be trained
- Strong attention to detail, especially in blister pack verification and daily processing
- Excellent communication skills with diverse populations
- Demonstrated ability to lead, organize workflow, and support staff
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a community clinical setting
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in pharmacy management, travel medicine, or immunization clinics
- Knowledge of malaria prophylaxis, travel vaccine schedules, and destination‑specific risks
- Experience with medication reviews and chronic disease management
- Familiarity with multilingual or culturally diverse patient interactions
