TCB Line Locating Inc. is a wholly owned Indigenous company and a Registered Alternate Locate Provider (ALP) delivering underground utility locating, damage prevention, and ground disturbance support services across Alberta and Western Canada. We are committed to protecting critical infrastructure through safe, accurate, and professional field services.
We are currently seeking experienced Locate Technicians to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete buried facility locates accurately and efficiently using proper locating methods and equipment
- Identify and mark underground utilities including electrical, gas, water, sewer, telecom, fibre optic, and other buried infrastructure
- Interpret maps, utility records, site plans, and client-provided information
- Produce clear and professional field documentation including notes, sketches, and measurements
- Recognize and communicate scope changes, access issues, conflicts, or uncertainty in a timely manner
- Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, homeowners, and internal team members
- Follow company procedures, client requirements, and all applicable safety standards
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and field development initiatives
- Complete daily hazard assessments, vehicle inspections, and required safety documentation
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Maintain locating equipment and tools in clean, serviceable condition
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of underground utility locating experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Strong ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and utility records
- Experience with EM and RF locating equipment
- Utility locating certification such as PAL, CAPULC, or equivalent is an asset
- CSTS, First Aid, H2S Alive, and Ground Disturbance training are assets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
- Willingness to take direction, accept feedback, and continue developing professionally
- Proven reliability, accountability, and professionalism
Work Conditions
- Field-based role working outdoors year-round
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of weather and site conditions
- Physically capable of meeting the demands of field work
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
