Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Meat Cutter, where you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meat products for our customers. Your expertise in butchery and food handling will ensure that every cut meets safety standards and exceeds customer expectations. You will be responsible for cutting, trimming, packaging, and presenting meat products with skill and care, contributing to a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Cut product to our specifications and premium standards while maintaining and upkeeping safety standards .
- Prepare meat products by trimming, portioning, and packaging to meet customer specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Handle food products carefully to prevent contamination or spoilage during processing and packaging
- Ensure the quality of the received product is up to standard and dates are correct before processing.
- Package products to customer specifications.
- Prior experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or butchery, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of meat cutting techniques, food safety practices, and proper packaging methods
- Strong understanding of food handling regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to operate knives and other butchery tools safely and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate cuts and presentation of products
- Ensure tools and equipment are sterilized prior to the end of the shift to fulfil food safety requirements.
Qualification and skills
- Willingness to work with raw meat products.
- Willingness to work in a cold environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, carrying and moving objects weighing 30+lbs safely and effectively.
- Previous work experience is required .
- Commitment to safety standards and practices.
- Physical fitness and stamina to sustain prolonged periods of activity, repetitive movements and manual labour.
