YYC Freight Services is a well-established Calgary-based company providing warehousing, ground handling, and transportation services to freight forwarders, direct shippers, and the aviation industry. Located at Calgary International Airport with direct airside (tarmac) access, we are uniquely positioned to efficiently serve our clients both on and off the airport.

We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join us as a full-time Cargo Runner and Warehouse Agent.
Schedule
- Tuesday to Friday: 13:00 - 22:00
- Saturday: 07:00 – 16:00
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles and equipment to transfer cargo between our warehouse and airside cargo facilities and airlines
- Accurately prepare, load, build, unload, and store inbound and outbound freight using appropriate equipment
- Communicate daily shipment status updates with office teams, ensuring timely handling and reporting any discrepancies
- Receive, verify, and release cargo in accordance with company and airline requirements, including documentation and system updates
- Screen export cargo in compliance with Transport Canada regulations
- Follow all security procedures and regulatory requirements at all times
- Ensure proper handling and storage of specialized cargo (e.g., time-sensitive, temperature-controlled, pharmaceuticals, dangerous goods)
- Maintain cleanliness, fueling, and readiness of airside vehicles
- Provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently
- Identify and report cargo damage or discrepancies
- Comply with and actively participate in company Health & Safety programs and initiatives
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform additional warehouse and shipping/receiving duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in cargo, logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations is an asset
- Ability to obtain a YYC RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card) and pass a background check
- Willingness to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP)
- Valid non-GDL Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
- Ability to work the specified schedule consistently
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and willingness to learn new systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role involves working in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive warehouse and airside environment. Candidates must be comfortable:
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions (including cold, heat, and precipitation)
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Performing repetitive physical tasks including lifting, bending, and twisting
- Lifting and handling cargo up to 30 kg on a regular basis
- Working in a warehouse environment with noise and moving equipment
