As Line Cook at Power Plant Grill, you will be responsible for conducting yourself professionally whilst ensuring the quality and standards of the Food & Beverage Department. You will be responsible for following all assigned tasks and duties, food preparation procedures, health and safety standards, kitchen operating procedures, kitchen equipment maintenance, etc.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate under the direction of the Head Chef.
- Follow daily preparation lists and requirements.
- Follow all opening and closing checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Follow all cleaning checklists and logs for kitchen maintenance.
- Follow all recipes and portion control standards correctly.
- Ensure that all workstations remain clean, organized, and stocked before and during service.
- Be on line cooking, calling orders and staging the timing of plate execution.
- Ensure all kitchen inventory and storage areas are clean and organized.
- Receive products; verify the invoices are correct and ensure product quality.
- Produce high-quality product and service to ensure guest satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain all health and safety standards as outlined by Government regulations.
- Attend meetings related to Food & Beverage if required.
- Perform other related duties as required by the Head Chef / Sous Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of federal and provincial health, safety and food-handling laws and regulations.
- Well experienced in proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and tools.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Open to taking directions; work well independently and as a member of a team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in a food preparation & cook position
- Weekend availability
- University, College or Culinary education or extensive cooking and production experience considered a strong asset
- Food Safety Certification or Training is required
- First aid certification is an asset
- WHMIS certification
