We are seeking highly skilled Food and Beverage Supervisors for our client in the downtown Toronto area.
A Food and Beverage (F&B) Supervisor oversees daily dining and catering operations. They manage front-of-house staff, ensure exceptional guest service, handle inventory and ordering, and enforce health and safety regulations. They bridge the gap between management and the service team..
Your primary objective will be to maximize sales and revenues, meeting and exceeding customer expectations, fostering employee engagement and maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency. While implementing innovative strategies and maintaining high standards you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our F&B department while enhancing and achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction while remaining profitable.
This is a full time contract position from September to December.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Schedule shifts, train new hires, lead pre-shift briefings, and evaluate staff performance.
- Customer Service: Welcome guests, resolve customer complaints, and ensure service standards are met.
- Operations: Coordinate seamlessly with the kitchen, manage table turnover, and oversee cash handling and billing.
- Inventory & Compliance: Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and strictly enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma, supplemented by a diploma or degree in hospitality, hotel management, or culinary arts.
- Experience: Typically 1 to 3 years of experience in food and beverage services, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Key Skills: Strong communication, conflict resolution, time management, and a solid understanding of POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Quality Control: Ensure high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service.
- Staff Management: Lead F&B team by attracting, training, scheduling, and supervising food and beverage staff.
- Inventory and Cost Control: Monitor inventory levels, monitoring food and beverage costs, purchasing goods and optimizing resource utilization
- Customer Service: Provide excellent levels of internal and external customer service, identify customer needs and respond proactively to all their concerns and ensure a positive dining experience
- Compliance: Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as other relevant health and safety standards.
- Event Coordination: Collaborating with event planners and other teams to ensure seamless service for special events and functions.
Qualifications for Food And Beverage Supervisor
- Culinary/Hospitality degree is preferred
- 2 years of previous Supervisor experience
- 4 years of experience in the restaurant industry
- Flexibility in working schedule (must be able to work weekends)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Great organizational skills
- Ability to forecast how much food is needed
- Ability to delegate tasks
