Position name: Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator
Reports to: Logistics
Job Purpose:
The Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator needs to be highly detailed and work well under pressure to coordinate lots of changing factors. Working with the Logistics Team the Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator will ensure that trucks are scheduled efficiently, track inventory, and work with third party vendors to book shipments and do product releases.
Primary Responsibilities:.
- Dispatching contracts to carriers, with all/any special instructions once the rate has been agreed upon.
- Track inventory with third party warehouses.
- Field and direct all incoming phone calls as required.
- Respond to all e-mails in a timely fashion including customer e-mails for pickups, rates and availability and updates.
- Act as a liaison between the company and client to ensure high level communication,
- Ensure compliance to predetermined routes, customer protocols and safety procedures.
- Handle emergency pickup and delivery of orders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any driver and customer issues.
- Relay progress reports in a timely manner.
- Confirming customs broker information.
- Saving all documents (BOLS/Customs docs/Packing lists) to the server.
- Trace and track all the shipments through the day.
- Ensuring Carriers have insurance, and an acceptable safety rating before securing.
- Resolving any issues regarding any order with the carrier or drivers brought. This may include any accessorial, delays or service problems.
- Finalizing any accessorial charges with the customer.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar background is preferred.
- 5-year minimum experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient at working with Microsoft Excel and has ability to work with other software and GPS technology.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
- Attention to detail and ability to provide constructive feedback
