Assistant Brewer
(Full-Time, Permanent)

We are currently seeking an Assistant Brewer to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting directly to the Lead Brewer and is responsible for monitoring and carrying out brewhouse, production, and cellaring operations.
This is a key position on the brewing/production team. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with great energy and a true passion for craft beer. Our team works together under minimal supervision to execute daily brewing operations, lead with innovation and creativity on project brews, facilitate best practices regarding quality and safety standards, and actively participate in sales and marketing efforts through beer education and public relations.
DUTIES
- Perform all tasks associated with making great and consistent craft beers, from mashing through to the packaging tank.
- Conduct pre-inspections and operate all equipment associated with the brewing and packaging processes. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: mash/lauter tun, boil kettle/whirlpool, DE filter, keg washer, canning line, CIP pumps, and pasteurization tunnel.
- Provide input on equipment optimization throughout growth initiatives.
- Prepare, organize, and track all materials used during the brewing process. Monitor processes and make adjustments as required to meet quality standards. Maintain accurate and timely reporting throughout the brewing, filtering, and packaging processes.
- Collect samples of wort, beer, and finished goods throughout the brewing, filtration, and packaging processes.
- Perform thorough sanitation duties, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment and utensils to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with packaging product.
- Provide general assistance to any other brewery department as required.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and incorporating proper body mechanics during work procedures.
- Inspect equipment and perform continuous housekeeping duties to meet sanitation expectations.
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of brewing and packaging processes.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented and “Safety First” environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical equipment and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Available and able to work 8+ hours if needed.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Asset: completed Brewery Operations Management or equivalent course.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Offering $20–$23 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Overtime as required.
