Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Veterinarian to join our veterinary team on a temporary basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality animal care, collaborate with a professional team, and contribute to the well-being of pets and their owners. We are located in the beautiful cottage country of Kawartha Lakes. We have a dedicated and experienced team of 4 RVT's, 2 assistants, 2 receptionists and an office manager. Our clients are a mix of locals and cottagers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in a variety of animals
- Perform surgery or dentals as needed and based on comfort level
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans tailored to individual animals
- Assist with laboratory testing and analyze results to support diagnoses
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding health concerns and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients
- Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and veterinary standards
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to deliver comprehensive animal care
Experience
- Valid veterinary license in the province of practice
- Prior experience working as a veterinarian in clinical setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to handle diverse cases with professionalism and compassion
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and client needs
Pay: $100.00-$200.00 per hour
