Operations Assistant – Japanese Food Import/Wholesale (Richmond, BC)

Location: Richmond, BC (Hybrid office & warehouse – some local driving)
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $43,680 (starting amount based on experience) → $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Who We’re Looking For
Reliable, organized team player to help keep our Japanese food import/wholesale operation running smoothly in Richmond.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Prepare invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents
- Answer phones, coordinate with customers and suppliers
- Receive shipments, check accuracy, update data in Excel/Google Sheets
- Assist with scheduling and local deliveries
- Occasionally perform Customer Service visits by driving to customers in the Lower Mainland (Greater Vancouver Area) - Company will either provide a company vehicle (if not already in use) or covers gas expense and provides car allowances
- Light warehouse work: using pallet jacks, hand trucks, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs / 23 kg
What You Need to Succeed
- 1–2 years of office, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or operations experience (food industry is a bonus but not required)
- Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets (basic formulas, sorting, VLOOKUP is enough)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent) and clean driving record and a reliable personal vehicle
- Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Fluent English (spoken and written); Cantonese or Mandarin is a big asset
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork – we’re a small, friendly team
