Baffin Fisheries a 100% Inuit owned company, and largest fishing enterprise in Northern Canada, has an immediate opening for an experienced SECOND MATE for its factory-freezer multi-species trawler MV Sivulliq.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant must have experience and knowledge of the following:
- Trawl Deck and Factory operations on a offshore otter trawling / freezing vessel
- Ship navigation
- Administrative requirements of the ship
- Monitoring of ships housekeeping
- Monitoring and ordering of various ships supplies
- Commitment to HSE
- Certification in Crane and Forklift Operation is an asset.
Mandatory Requirements:
The successful applicant must hold the following valid certification:
- Transport Canada Fishing Master III
- Transport Canada MED's / STCW Endorsements
- Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Transport Canada Seaman's Book
- Passport
Work rotation is 2 trips on / 2 trips off, and working in port with members of the opposite rotation as required.
