Overview
St. Joachim Lodge Rest Home is hiring an Overnight Caregiver to provide hands-on resident support and facility maintenance during overnight and early morning hours. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to care and medication protocols, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive living environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and support residents overnight, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Administer scheduled medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform detailed housekeeping and sanitation duties to maintain a clean, safe, and inspection-ready facility.
- Prepare the kitchen and serve breakfast in the morning.
- Complete resident and facility laundry as scheduled.
- Document observations, communicate with staff, and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Ensure entrances, exits, and common areas remain clean, safe, and accessible.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good physical stamina to stand and perform manual tasks for extended periods
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors
- Prior experience within Healthcare / Caregiving / Housekeeping
- First Aid/CPR certification required.
- Food Handler certificate required.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Belle River, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Housekeeping: 1 year (preferred)
- Caregiving: 2 years (preferred)
Language:
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (required)
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- PSW Certification (required)
