The successful candidate will help maintain a fresh, well-stocked, and visually appealing produce department while providing excellent customer service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and stock fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Rotate inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Maintain clean, organized, and attractive produce displays.
- Monitor product quality and remove damaged or spoiled items.
- Assist customers with product selection and answer questions.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Weigh, label, and package produce as needed.
- Support department inventory counts and restocking activities.
- Work collaboratively with team members and management.
- Provide cashiering backup when required.
- Provide break coverage to other departments.
Qualifications
- Previous retail, grocery, or produce experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
