Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial laundry equipment and machinery. This role is critical to ensuring that operations run smoothly, with minimal downtime, and equipment is maintained in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, presses, conveyors, boilers, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts inventory, and service records.
- Work closely with the operations team to identify and address equipment concerns and to prioritize and schedule repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools are accounted for.
- Assist with equipment installation and upgrades as needed.
- Monitor parts inventory and coordinate ordering when necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, food processing, laundry or another production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
- Experience with conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps and industrial equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate is an asset but not required.
- Hands-on, problem-solving approach with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or nights, as needed.

Working Conditions:
This position is in a production plant environment and the work requires:
- Continual physical effort all day such as bending stretching, pushing and pulling.
- Constant exposure to low-level noise from machines in the plant.
- Constant exposure to lint/dust particles in the air.
