Job Title: Meat Packaging Associate

Job Summary
The Meat Packaging Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and inspecting meat products to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with food safety standards. This role works in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment and plays a key role in maintaining product integrity and meeting production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Package raw and/or processed meat products according to company standards
- Weigh, label, and seal products accurately
- Inspect meat for quality, freshness, and defects
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and PPE requirements (USDA/FDA guidelines)
- Operate basic packaging machinery (training provided)
- Meet daily production quotas and accuracy standards
- Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet shift goals
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred (not always required)
- Previous food production or meat processing experience a plus
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to work in cold environments (32–40°F / 0–4°C)
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to [40–50] lbs regularly
- Frequent standing, bending, and reaching
- Manual dexterity for handling knives, packaging tools, or machinery
Work Environment
- Refrigerated production areas
- Exposure to raw meat products
- PPE required (gloves, aprons, hairnets, etc.)
- Fast-paced, production-driven environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
