We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Insulated Glass Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This role involves assembling high-quality insulated glass units (IGUs) for residential and commercial applications, requiring precision, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with glass manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with specialized glass tooling, machinery, and material handling equipment, along with a strong understanding of IGU assembly principles (including washing, spacer application, and sealing). Key Responsibilities
- Unit Assembly: Fabricate and assemble insulated glass units according to exact order specifications, ensuring proper alignment, spacer placement, and sealant depth.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate production machinery, including glass washers, spacer application tables, and primary/secondary sealing equipment.
- Quality Control: Conduct rigorous visual inspections throughout the assembly process to detect defects such as glass scratches, dust inclusion, incorrect spacer sizing, or seal imperfections.
- Material Handling: Safely lift, move, and position heavy glass sheets manually or with the assistance of suction cups, cranes, or specialized glass carts.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the cutting, bending, and shipping teams to meet daily production deadlines and optimize factory workflow efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in glass fabrication, commercial glazing, or insulated glass assembly is highly preferred.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Hands-on experience using industrial hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, and precise measuring instruments (tape measures, calipers).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive lifting of heavy materials, and work comfortably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset. Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
