The Journeyperson Electrician, under the direction of the Production Foreman, will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs associated with all electrical. They will work using safe work practices, always being aware of personal and client safety. The Journeyperson Electrician will be required to demonstrate written and verbal communication through the creation of work documents, and through providing explanations and training to others on the safe use of related equipment.
Job Duties
· Reads, interprets, and executes drawings, schematics, blueprints, and follow code specifications to see layout of the electrical system.
· Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of electrical components / products
· Determined project requirements, such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or material, using blueprints, drawings, or written or verbal instruction
· Assist with design and the planning of electrical systems.
- Install and maintaining wiring, data, and lighting systems.
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, switching gears.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing tools.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures with hand and power tools.
- Follow local building regulations and building codes.
· Work and cooperate with all departments to ensure all projects schedules and budgets are maintained.
· Direct apprentice electricians
· Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports
· Complies with standards and procedures of industry, Safety Manual, and abide by safety rules.
Requirements
· Must be certified Journeyman Electrician
· Master Electrician would be an asset
· Must be able to read diagrams, and blueprints
· Must possess communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety needs
· Must possess team spirit, and be able to work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering, and out of doors services
· Must be ready to do overtime work if the need arises
· Must be available to work overtime as/when required
· Must be able to climb ladders
· Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
· Experience with routine maintenance operations.
· Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allows one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
· Able to work well under pressure.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Work Conditions
· Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
· Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
· Overtime as required.
· Hazards associated with the trade.
· Work both indoors and outdoors.

Pay: $37.00-$40.00 per hour
