The Leduc Community Hospital OR is a dynamic, fast‑paced unit with 3 theatres supporting a broad range of surgical services, including orthopedics, otolaryngology, general surgery, plastics, urology, vascular, and neurology. You will play a key role throughout the perioperative patient experience, delivering care that is safe, patient‑ and family‑centered, and aligned with AHS policies, professional standards, and ORNAC guidelines. You will be accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, while confidently supporting all surgical services. RNs are expected to demonstrate leadership by anticipating patient and procedural needs, coordinating equipment and supplies, and supporting efficient OR flow. Responsibilities include scrub and circulating duties, acting as a resource to colleagues, and supporting staff development through collaboration and mentorship. In addition to intraoperative care, the RN provides care in Recovery in accordance with NAPANc standards, ensuring continuity and positive patient outcomes. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of two (2) years of recent Operating Room experience is required, along with demonstrated recent experience in a charge nurse or clinical leadership role and recent PACU experience. Completion of a Perioperative Certificate from an approved School of Nursing is required. The successful candidate will bring strong perioperative expertise and proven clinical leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to support a small, highly collaborative team. This role requires the ability to apply advanced problem-solving skills, and demonstrate strong critical thinking and professional judgment. The incumbent will possess effective interpersonal and written communication skills that support leadership, foster respect, and promote a positive, accountable team culture. The role also requires the physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and to push, pull, bend, and stand for prolonged periods exceeding 30 minutes.
