Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 3–6 month contract (with possibility of extension)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Full-time
Responsibilities:
Nurse Practitioners are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Advanced Clinical Assessment: Perform comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams and psychosocial evaluations, to determine the health status of patients across the lifespan.
- Diagnosis and Management: Independently diagnose acute and chronic conditions and manage patient care through the formulation of evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescriptive Authority: Prescribe pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological interventions in accordance with provincial regulations and organizational policies.
- Diagnostic Ordering: Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and medical imaging (e.g., X-rays, ultrasounds).
- Collaborative Leadership: Act as a clinical lead within interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Health Promotion and Education: Counsel patients and families on disease prevention, lifestyle management, and self-care strategies to improve long-term health outcomes.
- Chronic Disease Management: Monitor and optimize treatment for patients with complex, co-morbid conditions to reduce hospital readmissions and improve quality of life.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain rigorous, confidential, and timely electronic medical records (EMR) that meet professional standards for legal and billing purposes.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in clinical audits, research initiatives, and policy development to enhance patient safety and organizational efficiency.
- Professional Advocacy: Serve as a mentor to nursing staff and students, promoting a culture of continuous learning and adherence to the latest best practice guidelines.

Experience:
- Minimum 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner
