Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Early Childhood educators to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, responsive, and stimulating environment that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves designing engaging activities, supporting diverse learning needs, and collaborating with families to ensure each child's success in a Montessori-inspired environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, Montessori inspired activities aligned with early childhood education standards
- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that supports independence, exploration, and respect for each child
- Support children’s social-emotional development through responsive interactions and child-led learning experiences.
- Use effective teaching strategies to accommodate children with diverse needs
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and developmental milestones
- Maintain accurate records of student activities, assessments, and observations
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Manage classroom organization efficiently to maximize learning opportunities
- Demonstrate leadership in guiding assistant staff or volunteers when applicable
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Qualifications:
- Valid Alberta Child Care Certification-Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Montessori certification or training is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, child development, and special education strategies is essential
- Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, Preschool, Montessori, or childcare setting is preferred
- Experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus
- Strong communication, teamwork, supervisions, and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in computer operation for educational tools, record keeping, and communication platforms
Pay: $16.00-$21.00 per hour
