Esposito Bros. Construction Ltd. is a long-standing heavy civil contractor based in Bolton, Ontario. Since 1981, we have delivered municipal and public infrastructure projects across the GTA and surrounding areas, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, roads, sewers, watermains, and structural concrete works.
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Foreman – Bridge / Structural Concrete to lead field crews on bridge rehabilitation, structural concrete, and heavy civil infrastructure projects. This is a key leadership role for someone who takes pride in safe production, quality workmanship, proper planning, and strong communication with the project team.
Position Summary
The Site Foreman will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily field operations on bridge and structural concrete projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Coordinator, operators, labourers, suppliers, subcontractors, inspectors, and owner representatives to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with drawings, specifications, schedule, and company standards.
This is a hands-on field leadership position. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, production-driven, and capable of leading a crew while actively supporting the work on site.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations
- Lead and coordinate daily bridge, culvert, and structural concrete activities.
- Supervise concrete preparation, formwork, rebar installation, embeds, placement, finishing, curing, stripping, and general site works.
- Oversee installation and removal of formwork, shoring, falsework, access platforms, and temporary works in accordance with engineered designs and site requirements.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, deliveries, and subcontractors with project coordinator and site Superintendent to maintain productivity.
- Review daily work plans with the Superintendent and communicate expectations clearly to the crew.
- Confirm layouts, elevations, grades, dimensions, and field conditions before work proceeds.
- Identify conflicts, deficiencies, access constraints, material issues, and constructability concerns early.
- Monitor work progress against the schedule and help drive project milestones.
Leadership
- Lead, direct, mentor, and motivate crew including labourers, operators, carpenters, form setters, finishers, and subcontractors.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor crew performance, productivity, safety, and workmanship.
- Create a professional and accountable site culture focused on safety, quality, teamwork, and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and training to workers where required.
- Act as a key communication link between the field crew and the Superintendent / Project Coordinator.
- Maintain strong working relationships with inspectors, consultants, owner representatives, suppliers, and other trades.
Quality Control
- Read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, shop drawings, forming plans, rebar drawings, traffic staging drawings, and supplier information.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and company expectations.
- Inspect completed work and coordinate corrections for deficiencies or non-conforming items.
- Confirm materials, concrete, rebar, embeds, and site conditions are ready before placements.
- Support concrete pour planning, including manpower, equipment, access, finishing, curing, protection, and testing requirements.
- Identify extra work, changed conditions, and out-of-scope items and report them promptly to the Superintendent / Project Coordinator.
Health & Safety
- Enforce Esposito Bros. Construction Ltd.’s Health & Safety Program and all applicable OHSA requirements.
- Lead daily toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analyses, and site safety discussions.
- Ensure workers are using proper PPE, tools, equipment, fall protection, access, and safe work procedures.
- Identify hazards and take corrective action immediately.
- Monitor work around traffic, watercourses, excavations, lifting operations, shoring, formwork, equipment, and overhead hazards.
- Participate in incident reporting, inspections, investigations, and corrective action follow-up when required.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily site records, including manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, deliveries, visitors, weather, quantities, and daily progress.
- Maintain photographic records of work completed, site conditions, delays, deficiencies, and extra work.
- Track material usage, equipment needs, crew hours, and production quantities.
- Complete required safety forms, inspection checklists, daily reports, and site documentation.
- Communicate daily with the Superintendent and Project Coordinator regarding progress, concerns, changes, extra work, and upcoming requirements.
- Support payroll, quantity tracking, and project documentation as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in bridge, structural concrete, or heavy civil construction.
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Hand, Working Foreman, or equivalent field leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming, rebar, concrete placement, finishing, curing, and structural concrete sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and forming / shoring layouts.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices on heavy civil construction sites.
- Valid Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage crews, coordinate resources, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced field environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, or shift work when required by the project schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with municipal infrastructure, MTO work, bridge rehabilitation, culvert replacement, retaining walls, and structural concrete.
- Knowledge of MTO, OPS, municipal, and consultant inspection requirements.
- Experience with shoring, falsework, cofferdams, access platforms, bridge decks, abutments, wingwalls, approach slabs, parapet walls, sidewalks, curbs, and retaining structures.
- Valid safety certifications such as:
- Working at Heights
- WHMIS
- First Aid / CPR
- Basics of Supervision
- Confined Space Awareness
- Traffic Control / Book 7
- Rigging and Hoisting Awareness
- Experience completing daily reports, safety documentation, and photo records using digital systems.

Work Conditions
- Work is performed primarily on active construction sites.
