Overview
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our construction team. Our work consists primarily of residential renovations and additions, ranging from structural work and framing through to detailed finishing, with occasional commercial fit-ups and upcoming multi-unit residential projects. This is a long-term opportunity for the right candidate looking to grow with a professional and expanding company
Responsibilities
- Residential framing and general carpentry
- Finish carpentry including trim, doors, cabinetry, and stairs
- Window and door installation
- Basic tile work and interior finishing
- Reading drawings and executing work accurately
- Site layout, measuring, and material preparation
- Coordinating with subcontractors to maintain workflow and project schedule
- Professional interaction with clients, trades, and suppliers on active job sites
- Leading helpers or apprentices when required
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional carpentry experience
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and job site safety requirements
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and execute work accurately
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and maintain project schedules
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- 7:30 AM start time on job sites throughout Ottawa
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are mandatory
Tools & Transportation
- Must own a full set of personal hand tools
- Company-provided cordless power tools
- Reliable transportation required
Licensing & Certifications
- Valid driver’s license required
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications are considered assets
