We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of Logistics Coordinator in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia,
Position Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily equipment deliveries, pickups, and inter-branch transfers to support efficient operations. Acting as the central communication hub, this role liaises closely with Operations, Service, Yard staff, Drivers, and Inside Sales to ensure seamless information flow and execution. The Dispatcher ensures schedules are optimized, customer expectations are met, and equipment movements are completed safely and on time. This position plays a critical role in maintaining fleet efficiency, supporting customer service excellence, and enabling smooth day-to-day operational performance.
Responsibilities:
Daily Dispatching and Scheduling
- Schedule and coordinate equipment deliveries, pickups, exchanges, and inter-branch transfers.
- Assign routes and jobs based on workload, geography, and urgency.
- Maintain and update the daily dispatch board with real-time status changes.
- Manage same-day and emergency dispatches
Customer Communication and Support
- Communicate delivery/pickup times with customers.
- Provide updates on delays, changes, or equipment readiness.
- Support Inside Sales by confirming customer scheduling needs.
Equipment Readiness and Service Coordination
- Coordinate with Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and Service Writers regarding equipment readiness.
- Confirm PMs, repairs, and inspections are complete before dispatch.
- Escalate delays that impact customer commitments.
Work Order and Documentation Support
- Review work orders tied to pickups: IMOs, IROs, and service calls.
- Identify return reasons and ensure proper routing (repair, inspection, staging).
- Ensure delivery tickets and digital logs are accurate and complete.
Driver Coordination, Safety and Compliance
- Communicate routes, safety expectations, and jobsite requirements to drivers.
- Reinforce safe driving, PPE standards, and securement procedures.
- Support BLR’s zero‑incident safety culture.
Yard Flow & Operational Efficiency
- Coordinate with Yard team for staging, fueling, washing, and preparation of equipment.
- Reduce bottlenecks by optimizing yard workflow.
- Improve route efficiency to minimize fuel, travel time, and duplicate trips.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Provide real-time updates to Operations and Branch Management.
- Work with Sales to prioritize high-value customer deliveries.
- Coordinate with Parts for urgent repairs or equipment fulfilment.
Administrative Accuracy, KPIs & Reporting
- Maintain accurate driver logs, route summaries, and dispatch records.
- Track KPIs such as on-time deliveries, return cycle times, and productivity
- Provide data to Operations for monthly reporting.
5S, Safety Culture & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain dispatch office organization and 5S compliance.
- Participate in daily huddles and monthly safety meetings.
- Identify process improvements to enhance dispatch efficiency.
Skills Required:
- Experience in logistics coordination, dispatching, or equipment rental operations
- Strong understanding of routing, scheduling, fleet movement, and operational workflows
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with customers and internal teams
- Strong customer service mindset and problem‑solving abilities
- High attention to detail for work orders, documentation, and dispatch records
- Knowledge of safety standards, PPE requirements, and transportation best practices
- Proficiency with dispatch boards, operational software, and basic computer applications
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to same‑day changes
Renumeration:
Brunswick Lift Rentals offers an excellent remuneration package for qualified employees, which includes a competitive salary, comprehensive medical, dental package, vision, life and disability coverage, paid vacation, and holidays.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime may be required during peak periods and is available based on operational needs.
