Job description:
Position Summary
The Auto Body Estimator assesses body, paint and mechanical damages on vehicles, provides supporting documentation and determines the amount of damages covered by the relevant insurance policies. Strong customer service, communication skills and accuracy are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect automobile damage – Assess body, paint and mechanical damages on vehicles and remove body components to confirm hidden damages.
- Write detailed and accurate estimates for structural, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs
- Take photos to support adjustment reports, validating circumstances regarding related damages to claims.
- Determine the amount of loss or damages covered by insurance policies and
- Communicate and negotiate effectively with insurance adjusters
- Review, input, calculate and submit to MPI (or relevant insurance company) for approval
- Perform quality control inspections prior to delivery
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Estimator in a high-volume shop
- Strong knowledge of OEM repair procedures and insurance processes
- Proficiency with Mitchell RepairCenter, Mitchell Connect, Mitchell TechAdvisor, or equivalent
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and cycle time
- Self-motivated, accountable, and team-focused
- Positive, no-excuses, get-it-done attitude
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
