Our client is currently looking for a Heavy Duty/Transportation Mechanic to join their team in Nanaimo, BC. This role is responsible for performing high-quality preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial transport vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
This position is located out of Nanaimo, BC. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial transport vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, braking systems, and fuel systems.
- Maintain and repair air systems and related components.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair mobile machinery, including trucks, trailers, graders, bulldozers, excavators, and loaders.
- Fabricate and weld parts as needed.
- Accurately complete work orders and service documentation.

Qualifications
- Journeyman (Red Seal) certification in Commercial Transport or Heavy-Duty Mechanics.
- 3rd/4th Year Apprentices may also be considered.
- Ability to provide your own tools.
- Experience with heavy civil equipment and commercial trucking/trailer industries.
- Valid driver’s license.
- A Class 1 or Class 3 license an asset.
- Welding experience an asset.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
