Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard our retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring store activities, preventing theft, and ensuring the safety of employees and customers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to respond swiftly to security incidents. Prior experience in law enforcement or security is preferred, along with familiarity with surveillance systems and CCTV operations. The Loss Prevention Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a secure shopping experience and protecting company assets.
Duties
- Monitor store premises through CCTV surveillance and physical patrols to detect suspicious activity
- Identify potential theft or security breaches and intervene appropriately
- Collaborate with store staff to implement loss prevention strategies and policies
- Document incidents accurately and prepare detailed reports for management review
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or security concerns, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Conduct investigations into thefts or other security incidents, gathering evidence as needed
- Assist in training staff on loss prevention procedures and security awareness
- Maintain a visible presence in the store to deter theft and promote a secure shopping environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or loss prevention is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of surveillance systems, CCTV operation, and monitoring techniques
- Excellent observational skills with the ability to recognize suspicious behavior quickly
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and effectively
- Knowledge of retail operations and loss prevention best practices is a plus
- Physical ability to patrol the store environment as needed
