Pace Processing is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team for our afternoon shift. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment while ensuring all products meet company procedures, food safety regulations, quality standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production requirements.
- Ensure machines operate efficiently to meet production targets while minimizing downtime.
- Perform machine start-up, changeover, and shut-down procedures as required.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Monitor product output and remove defective or non-conforming products.
- Load materials and ingredients into production equipment.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report significant malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all cleaning and sanitation procedures for equipment and work areas.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and workplace safety policies.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or food production environment is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Ability to safely lift 15–25 kg.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work assigned Afternoon shifts.
- Comfortable working in cool or temperature-controlled environments.
