Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Osteopath to join our busy healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in hospital settings, research, and acute care. This role involves providing comprehensive osteopathic treatment, managing pain, and supporting patient recovery through holistic approaches. The Osteopath will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional medical services, focusing on pediatrics, pain management, and home care. A solid understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine osteopathic needs and develop personalized treatment plans
- Perform manual therapy techniques to address musculoskeletal issues and promote healing
- Manage pain through non-invasive methods, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Document patient interactions accurately using electronic health records (Epic, Cerner)
- Collect relevant data for research purposes and contribute to ongoing clinical studies
- Administer medications as prescribed within scope of practice and ensure proper documentation
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, pain management strategies, and home care routines
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Support pediatric patients with specialized osteopathic treatments tailored to their needs
- Assist in clinical research initiatives aimed at improving osteopathic practices and patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as an Osteopath or equivalent credential in the relevant jurisdiction
- Prior hospital experience preferred, especially in acute care or pain management settings
- Experience working with pediatric patients and providing home care services is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner
- Background in research or data collection related to healthcare is a plus
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse populations
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
- Previous experience with medication administration and medical office procedures is desirable
