We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our insurance client in Toronto, Ontario on a Contract basis. This opportunity is well suited to someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and can bring accuracy, strong communication, and strong follow-through to daily receivables activities. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining timely payment flow, supporting client communication, and keeping financial records organized and current.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including issuing invoices, applying incoming payments, and maintaining accurate account records.
- Follow up with customers on outstanding balances through clear written and verbal communication to support timely collections.
- Investigate payment discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and reconcile account details to ensure financial information is up to date.
- Process various forms of payment efficiently and accurately while maintaining proper documentation for each transaction.
- Provide responsive service to internal teams and external clients by addressing account inquiries and clarifying payment-related matters.
- Use QuickBooks Online and related systems to track receivables, update account information, and produce supporting documentation as required.
- Assist with increased workload demands by prioritizing open items, monitoring aging reports, and helping keep receivables current.
- At least 3 years of hands-on accounts receivable experience in a fast-paced business environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle collections tactfully and professionally.
- Practical experience preparing invoices, posting payments, and managing follow-up on overdue accounts.
- Solid understanding of collection procedures, account reconciliation, and payment processing practices.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online is preferred.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when working with financial records.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining service quality.
