Description
As a key member of our Dynamics Engineering Team, you will design innovative, precision mechanical products, driving them through the entire development process, from ideation to production. You'll turn concepts into manufacturable products through an iterative cycle of modeling, prototyping, testing, and revising until the design meets project requirements. Working across multiple concurrent projects, you’ll collaborate with design, testing, and manufacturing to keep scope, costs, and timelines on track. Success will ultimately mean bringing precision products to life that make our customers shoot better.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience across a range of fabrication processes
- 3+ years developing physical consumer products from concept through to mass production, working within cross-functional teams
Core Qualifications
- Experience with precision fabrication and assembly methods, plus mechanical drawing including functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Firm grasp of engineering fundamentals, dynamics of mechanical systems, mechanics of materials, and precision fabrication
- Hands-on knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly, including designing parts for injection molding and machining
- Testing and analysis experience, including FEA, simulation, and design of experiments
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with outdoor goods, sporting goods, firearms, or other precision and rugged consumer products that involve moving mechanisms
- A genuine maker mindset: you build and tinker on your own time, and you can show a portfolio of personal or professional work
- A user-centered approach, translating real user needs into requirements and keeping the user experience front and center
- Proven hands-on prototyping ability, including building, testing, and iterating functional prototypes and test fixtures in the lab
- Materials knowledge for demanding consumer applications: engineering polymers, metals, adhesives, coatings, and surface finishes
- Experience owning supplier and vendor relationships, including contract manufacturers
- Familiarity with a formal stage-gate or phase-gate development process

Pay: $90,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
