Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our clients manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating CNC machinery, including CNC lathes and milling machines. This role involves precise machining, blueprint reading, and utilizing various hand and power tools to produce high-quality components. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment .
Duties
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, ensuring accurate production according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files using SolidWorks or similar software
- Responsible for setting up and operating Drill Presses, Lathes Milling machine
- Measure and inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards are met
- Set up machines, including adjusting tooling and fixtures for proper operation
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools to assemble or modify parts as needed
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of forklifts and adherence to lean manufacturing practices
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience with CNC programming and operation
- Experience working with Mild Steel, Hardened Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to machining processes and equipment maintenance
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers accurately
- Skilled in machining techniques including turning, milling, welding, and assembly processes
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation is preferred
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and setting up machinery
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
