Overview
Railtown Catering is seeking a skilled Catering Cook to join our team. As a chef-driven company, we are committed to crafting high-quality, scratch-made dishes that exceed client expectations. We're looking for candidates who share our passion for exceptional food and are eager to grow and advance in their culinary careers. This is a full time position. Hours are approximately 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
Responsibilities:
- Prepping, cooking and assembling dishes according to recipes and customer requests
- Ensuring portion control and consistency in food presentation
- Ensuring all dishes meet the our quality standards
- Following food safety guidelines to prevent contamination
- Maintaining cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Safely operating kitchen appliances and tools
- Monitoring ingredient inventory and reporting shortages to management
- Receiving and storing food supplies properly
- Minimizing food waste through proper storage and portioning techniques
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks during busy periods
- Collaborating with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Communicating effectively with the head chef or kitchen manager about any issues
- Assisting other team members during high-demand periods
Candidate Requirements:
- Intermediate culinary training and knife skills
- Strong work ethic
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Clean and organized
- Trustworthy and honest
- 3+ year kitchen experience
