Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will need to possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of fleet vehicles. This role requires experience in freightliners, compressors, loaders, as well as the ability to assemble and disassemble equipment effectively.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty equipment.
- Repairing damaged equipment parts. Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and make sure that it is in proper working condition.
- Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety regulations.
Requirements
- Journeyman Certificate Required
- Proven experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and industrial equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience working with various fleet vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
- Good communication skills.
