Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced 3-axis CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and running CNC programs to produce high-quality components efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery as well as proficiency in CAD/CAM software and blueprint reading. The CNC Programmer will collaborate closely with machinists and engineers to ensure manufacturing processes meet specifications and quality standards.
Duties
- Develop and write CNC programs using Cimatron software.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC machines ensuring precise tool paths and operations.
- Perform machine calibration, tool selection, and maintenance to optimize performance.
- Conduct test runs, analyze results, and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with Designers and Toolmakers
- Follow manufacturing principles to streamline processes.
- Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed during all operations.
Job requirements
- Proven experience with CNC programming, particularly with Cimatron software and Fanuc controls required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related of machining processes and equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency in CAD software and general blueprint reading skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments, including machining, assembly and use of hand tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precision machining.
- Experience operating 3-axis CNC milling machines is required.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail is essential.
