Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to deliver steel across designated routes between Manitoba and BC. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to transportation regulations, and excellent driving skills. Candidates with experience in forklift operation, freight handling, are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight to various destinations
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during transportation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers for delivery schedules and issues
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting if required during routes
- Assist with freight handling, securing loads, and ensuring cargo integrity during transit
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation, and automotive repair is a plus
- Strong understanding of transportation safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections as needed
Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
