Job Purpose
Oxford International is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to join our Halifax team as a Practicum Coordinator for the Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) Program.
This is a non-teaching role focused on coordinating student practicum placements, developing and maintaining strong healthcare partnerships, and supporting successful practicum experiences for CCA students.

Coordinate and assign CCA student practicum placements, schedules, rotations, and required hours.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with long-term care, home care, healthcare, and community partners.
- Proactively secure new practicum opportunities and support future placement capacity needs.
- Serve as the primary liaison between students, College staff, and practicum partners.
- Track student practicum eligibility, required documentation, attendance, and completion requirements.
- Maintain accurate practicum records, schedules, databases, and tracking systems.
- Monitor student practicum progress and coordinate with instructors and placement supervisors regarding concerns.
- Apply professional nursing judgement when identifying and escalating student safety, competency, professionalism, or conduct concerns.
- Support equitable and consistent practicum processes while maintaining strong relationships with healthcare partners.
- Contribute to CCA Program quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current registration and good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) – required.
- Minimum six (6) years of professional nursing experience – required.
- Experience in continuing care, long-term care, home care, community care, acute care, or a related healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of resident/client safety, person-centred care, professionalism, and healthcare standards.
Experience and knowledge
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple student cohorts and practicum schedules.
- Experience in the continuing care sector.
- Experience coordinating clinical placements, practicums, or student rotations.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or precepting healthcare students.
- Previous post-secondary or private career college experience.
- Experience developing healthcare or community partnerships.
- Strong Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, and database management skills.
