Reporting to the Site Director or Operations Director, the Manager, Surgical and Outpatient Services is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing and directing the delivery of patient care services within the Operating Room (OR), Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Surgical Day Care (SDC), Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR), and Outpatient Services at the assigned area.
The Manager utilizes a collaborative, supportive, team-building approach, and evidence-based decision making to provide leadership in the integration of cultural safety and humility, and the coordination of patient-centred, quality care supporting the health of the population. The Manager champions, coaches and supports a regional perspective in access to care and allocation of resources, and manages, directly and through delegation, the professional and clinical practices of staff; quality assurance and improvement; change processes; integrated and unified teams; creative solutions in a learning organization; and ensures policies and procedures comply with professional, legal, and Island Health standards.
A level of education, training and experience equivalent a Bachelor's degree in a relevant health discipline, Master's degree or surgical/interventional certification preferred. Seven (7) years' health care experience including several years at the supervisory/management level in a critical care area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
