Position Summary
Milo is seeking a Product Specialist to take ownership of product development, commercialization, product launches, marketplace positioning, and ongoing product improvement across our consumer product lines.
This role will work closely with the Marketing Team, e-commerce team, suppliers, and internal departments to bring new products from research and planning through launch and ongoing performance review. The Product Specialist will be responsible for managing product information, researching market opportunities, coordinating product requirements, supporting listing and packaging accuracy, and ensuring products are positioned effectively across online and retail channels.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and comfortable managing product-related projects from concept to launch. This position is well suited for someone with experience in product coordination, marketing, e-commerce, merchandising, or consumer goods who is looking to grow into a broader product management role.
Key Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for the development, commercialization, and successful launch of new products.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of new product launches, product updates, and product improvement projects.
- Conduct market, competitor, pricing, and customer research to identify product opportunities and support product positioning.
- Develop and maintain product specifications, packaging details, images, timelines, launch materials, and required documentation.
- Work with the Marketing Manager and internal teams to align product positioning, listing content, promotions, and marketing materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to follow up on product samples, specifications, packaging, timelines, and documentation.
- Monitor product performance, customer feedback, reviews, return reasons, and marketplace trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage product listing updates across e-commerce and marketplace channels, including product descriptions, images, features, and specifications.
- Oversee packaging updates, instruction manuals, compliance materials, and product information accuracy.
- Prepare product briefs, comparison charts, research summaries, launch plans, and internal reports.
- Identify product issues, content gaps, or improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations to the team.
- Support cross-functional communication between marketing, e-commerce, customer service, logistics, suppliers, and management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in product development, product coordination, marketing, e-commerce, merchandising, consumer products, or a related role.
- Strong organizational, research, and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and details in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail when working with product specifications, listings, packaging, and marketing content.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
- Comfortable analyzing product information, customer feedback, sales trends, competitor activity, and marketplace data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with consumer products, retail, e-commerce, or marketplace operations.
- Familiarity with Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, Home Depot, TikTok Shop, or other online retail platforms.
- Experience supporting product launches, packaging updates, listing optimization, promotional planning, or product commercialization.
- Basic understanding of product positioning, pricing, keyword research, marketplace content, and customer review analysis.
- Interest in product design, product development, and consumer trends.
- Multilingual capabilities are an asset.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers or manufacturers is a plus.
