We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parts Technician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in supporting customers in the heavy equipment industry.
As a key member of the Union Tractor team, the Parts Technician plays an essential role in supporting customer uptime, increasing customer confidence, and delivering outstanding service through accurate parts sourcing, inventory management, and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Parts Support
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
- Respond to customer requests with urgency and professionalism
- Source and identify parts using OEM schematics and technical resources
- Review requests for complete information and determine ETA requirements
- Conduct customer follow-up to ensure satisfaction and service excellence
- Proactively seek sales opportunities during slower periods through upselling and customer outreach
Inventory & Operational Support
- Maintain purchase orders, back orders, inter-warehouse transfers, and open orders through completion in a timely manner
- Record and analyze parts movement trends and recommend stocking items based on sales activity and local market demands
- Support product sourcing and purchasing activities as required
- Create and maintain vendor reference materials including databases, websites, and catalogues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance in the parts and warehouse areas
- Complete all associated paperwork, filing, and documentation accurately
Team & Safety Commitment
- Lead by example regarding corporate initiatives and company values
- Work collaboratively as a positive team player and mentor
- Adhere to and enforce all health & safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate excellent product knowledge with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Follow Union Tractor systems and procedures including:
- Credit policies
- Warranties
- Sales and returns
- Core returns
- Purchasing
- Quoting procedures
- Perform other duties as required by Union Tractor
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in Parts Sales, preferably in Heavy Equipment or Heavy Equipment Parts
- Journeyman Parts Technician certification is considered an asset
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate:
- Margin
- Markup
- Freight
- Currency exchange
- Customer-driven with a positive and professional attitude
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Willingness to stay late when required to complete priority tasks
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
