Position Overview
Brampton Mnaufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Table, Press Brake, and Shear Operator to join our growing fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC plasma cutting equipment, press brakes, and shearing equipment to produce high-quality fabricated steel components.
This position is best suited for a self-motivated individual with strong fabrication knowledge, blueprint reading skills, and hands-on experience in a custom metal manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting tables, press brakes, and hydraulic shears.
- Must have experience with independent setup and operation of CNC press brakes.
- Program and adjust machine parameters based on drawings and production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, tape measures, squares, protractors, and other measuring equipment.
- Select proper tooling and perform machine setups for various material types and thicknesses.
- Inspect completed parts to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
- Organize and stage material for production runs.
- Work closely with welders, fitters, and production personnel to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with other fabrication duties as required.
Qualifications & SkillsRequired
- Minimum 3 years of CNC Press Brake setup and operation experience.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience with CNC plasma cutting equipment.
- Experience operating hydraulic shears.
- Ability to perform machine setups without supervision.
- Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
Preferred
- Experience with structural steel, sheet metal, and custom fabrication.
- Forklift certification.
- Overhead crane experience.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with nesting software and CNC programming.
- Knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems and production documentation.
