Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Document treatment procedures accurately in the dental management system
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure all dental instruments are properly sanitized
- Manage patient scheduling, answer questions, and foster a welcoming environment for all patients
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth office operations
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Experience in dental assisting or related roles is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and comfort
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients about oral health practices
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
