Once Upon A Child Kelowna is an independently owned and operated children’s gently used resale store. Our mission is to provide a fun and convenient way to buy and sell gently used kid's stuff while focusing on quality, safety and value.
We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are looking to work 10 to 25 hours per week and have a flexible schedule to work weekdays with evening and weekend availability.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Present a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Promote all aspects of the business including but not limited to buying, selling, pricing, and merchandising. Assist store management in daily operations of the store.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers immediately, determine their needs and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner
- Exhibit appropriate selling and buying procedures and effectively communicate to all customers our Buy Policy as well as our inventory needs
- Become familiar with products, brands and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits to suit customers’ needs
- Become certified in the buying process
- Price and tag all items based on buying guidelines. Restock store following the merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures
- Develop proficiency in operating computerized Point of Sale (POS) system for all sales transactions, buys, returns, etc.
- Achieve store sales goals by applying sound customer service and sales protocol
QUALIFICATIONS
Once Upon A Child Kelowna is looking for customer service oriented sale associates. The ideal candidate will be available to work flexible hours and meet the following criteria:
- Proven customer service skills
- Retail and Merchandising experience an asset
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team and take direction from supervisors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy (multi-tasking is essential)
- Basic math skills essential
- Sales and goal driven
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
- Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise
- Exposure to typical retail environment conditions and noise levels
