We are a licensed professional kennel for 30 years. Our goal is to provide dogs with plenty of attention and playtime to satisfy the most enthusiastic guest with access to indoor (temperature-controlled) runs, spacious suites and an outdoor, enclosed 1.5 acre play area as well as walks through the farm’s many forested trails. Beastmaster Farm excels in providing special care for guests that have unique social-behavioural requirements or physical limitations. All diet and medication needs are met at no extra charge..
Our work environment includes:

- The work day is divided up into 2 shifts- 8:00-12:00pm and 1:00-5:00 pm, with the possibility of full time during the summer months of July and August.
- Must be available weekends and some holidays
- Please be advised there are slow periods when there may not be many shifts.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team for the summer months starting mid June and ending at the start of September. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and happiness of our clients' furry companions through regular walks and exercise. Be advised that you are expected to be outdoors a lot of the time in all weather unless we are having inclement weather
Duties:
- Walk dogs of various breeds and sizes in all weather conditions
- Provide fresh water and food as needed during visits
- Ensure the safety and security of the dogs in your care at all times
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their pets' care
- Employees must clean according to our kennel policy to maintain hygiene and consistency. This includes dog dishes
- Clean up after dogs during walks and clean up in field daily
- Provide basic training reinforcement as requested by pet owners
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working or living with animals, particularly dogs, is preferred
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners
- Physical ability to walk for extended periods and handle dogs that may pull on the leash
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from the farm
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Customer service experience is a plus
