Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Carpenter to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support various residential construction and restoration projects, ensuring quality workmanship and efficient project execution.
The ideal candidate DOES NOT need to be a certified carpenter but must have a strong foundation in carpentry, residential construction techniques, and site operations, with a passion for learning and contributing to diverse building tasks. As an integral part of our team, you will assist with hands-on tasks, coordinate project activities, and help maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Duties
- Assist lead craftsmen and project managers in performing construction tasks across multiple trades, including framing, trim carpentry, installing composite decking, and finishing.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and efficiently to complete installation and repair work.
- Support concrete forming, masonry work, roofing, siding, and metal stud framing as needed.
- Help with fixture installation, door hanging, cabinetry, flooring, tile laying, and drywall finishing to meet project specifications.
- Conduct site cleanup, organize materials, and prepare work areas for ongoing construction or restoration activities.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while performing heavy lifting tasks or working at heights on scaffolding or ladders.
- Support the fabrication of custom components using woodworking
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential construction site environments with knowledge of carpentry techniques such as framing, trim carpentry.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools (such as saws, drills), and safety equipment used on construction sites.
- Knowledge of concrete forming processes, masonry work, roofing systems (including shingles and metal roofing), siding installation (vinyl or fiber cement), and stucco application preferred.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights; comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of plumbing systems, electrical wiring practices, flooring installation (tile or hardwood), tile laying techniques, and fixture installation is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
- Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
