Overview
We are seeking a reliable and efficient Package Delivery Associate to join our logistics team. This role involves delivering packages safely and on time, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate delivery records. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, commercial driving, and possess strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport packages to various locations within designated routes
- Load and unload packages using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist with moving heavy or bulky items, utilizing proper lifting techniques or equipment like forklifts
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times or issues, providing excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs
- Collaborate with warehouse staff for efficient package handling and inventory management
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred; valid driver’s license required for operating delivery vehicles
- Prior warehouse experience is a plus, especially involving moving or forklift operation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically handle packages of varying sizes and weights
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Experience in customer service is desirable
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to warehouse operations and commercial driving
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and follow delivery schedules
- Reliable transportation to reach the warehouse or starting point of deliveries
